Description:
This so-called puzzle jug comes from the city of Oxford, where drinking establishments became relatively common beginning around 1200. It was used in a specific "puzzle" drinking game: players had to find ways to drink from the jug without accidentally spilling the contents on themselves through one of its multiple spouts.
