Description: According to the colophon, this Gospel book was written by Sargis the Priest in Armenian era 415 (966 CE), which is why the manuscript is often called the Gospels of the Priest. It was created "as decoration and for the splendor of [the] holy church and for the pleasure of the congregation of Rznēr." Among its illustrations is a page with the Virgin and Child on a wheeled chariot and a page with an ornamental cross and donor portraits. The image of the Virgin and Child includes a quotation from Gabriel: "You who are highly favored! The Lord is with you" (Luke 1:28).
