Description:
Many of the hoards uncovered at Snettisham (Norfolk, UK) included Celtic torcs (fragmentary and whole) 150 BCE to 50 BCE. Torcs are rigid neck rings, sometimes made from single pieces of metal and other times from metal wires twisted into ropes. While the Great Snettisham Torc contained over a kilogram of gold alloy (gold mixed with silver), others were made of bronze, iron, and other metals.
