Description: This late twelfth-century font in the church of San Esteban (St. Stephen) in Renedo de Valdavia, Spain, is carved with a stylized floral band above a continuous arcade. In the ten arches, a priest stands over a font; a knight tramples a serpent; the three Magi on horseback approach the Virgin and Child, as does a single pilgrim (with a staff); a man and woman pray; and a man wrestles a beast.
